The CLI covers everything the dashboard does and is auditable bash under the hood, which matters if you want to inspect what it's actually doing. Its built-in DHCP server means even devices that ignore manual DNS settings get protection automatically. The main limitation is that it blocks via domain matching, so circumvention tools that use dns-level proxies can still work around it, and initial configuration assumes comfort with either router settings or command-line work. If you want network-wide ad blocking without per-device software and you're willing to maintain a small Linux host or repurpose an old Raspberry Pi, Pi-hole is a mature, self-hostable option with no subscription required.
